CommandDesk

Get the CommandDesk PC app

Install this free app on the Windows or Linux PC you want to control. It runs quietly in the tray and lets your paired Mac use its keyboard, mouse and clipboard here, and hear its sound.

Windows

Windows 11, or Windows 10 version 2004 (2020) or later

Download for Windows
  1. 1Open the downloaded CommandDesk.exe.
  2. 2If Windows says it “protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway. (A Microsoft Store version, without this step, is on its way.)
  3. 3When Windows Firewall asks, tick Private and Public networks and click Allow.
  4. 4The CommandDesk icon appears in the tray. Now pair from your Mac.

Linux

Ubuntu 24.04 or later, or another distribution with the GNOME desktop

Download .deb for Ubuntu
  1. 1Install it: open a terminal in your Downloads folder and run sudo apt install ./commanddesk-agent_*.deb
  2. 2Open CommandDesk from your apps. From now on it starts by itself when you log in.
  3. 3The CommandDesk icon appears in the top bar. Now pair from your Mac.

Needs the GNOME desktop (it uses GNOME's own remote-control service). KDE, Cinnamon and other desktops aren't supported yet.

Then, on your Mac

Open CommandDesk. Your PC appears in its setup guide and menu: click Pair, check that both screens show the same 6-digit code, and click Allow on the PC. The Mac and the PC need to be on the same network.
